Horizon 2020 ICT

Binnen het Europese subsidieprogramma Horizon 2020 is een belangrijke rol weggelegd voor onderzoek naar en ontwikkeling van ICT. Deze sector is veelal de drijvende kracht achter het ontwikkelen van nieuwe systemen, apparaten en toepassingen. Het versterken van de concurrentiekracht van het bedrijfsleven zal Europese ICT innovaties wereldwijd op de kaart moeten zetten. Tot 2020 zal met Horizon 2020 ICT ruim € 8 miljard geïnvesteerd worden in projecten.

Innovatieve technologieën binnen Horizon 2020 ICT

Het programma biedt kansen voor mkb’ers, grotere bedrijven, universiteiten en onderzoeksinstellingen. Doorgaans wordt samenwerking met buitenlandse partners verplicht gesteld. Met het subsidieprogramma worden organisaties ondersteund die zeer innovatieve technologieën ontwikkelen. Binnen onderstaande categorieën zijn specifieke oproepen voor projecten:

  • Categorie ‘Leadership in Enabling and Industrial Technologies’ met onderwerpen zoals Internet of Things, cybersecurity, robotica voor innovatieve fabrieken, ICT voor micro- en nano-elektronica en fotonica en content technologie en information management.
  • Categorie ‘Excellent Science’ waarin bijvoorbeeld wordt gezocht naar vernieuwende projecten voor toekomstige en opkomende technologieën, high performance computing en e-infrastructures.
  • Categorie ‘Societal Challenges’: ICT-innovatie voor onder andere gezondheid, demografische verandering en welzijn, veilige, schone en efficiënte energie, slimme, groene en geïntegreerd transport en een veilige maatschappij.
