Three hits: Hezelburcht has supported three successful Innovation Fund 2025 projects!
The European Commission has announced the results of the Innovation Fund Net-Zero Technologies 2025 call. A total of 77 innovative decarbonisation projects have been selected to receive approximately € 3.4 billion in grants. Hezelburcht has also made a significant contribution to this European funding round: three projects supported by our specialists are among those selected. An achievement we are proud of!
€ 3.4 billion for 77 innovative decarbonisation projects
On 19 October 2026, the European Commission announced the projects selected under the Innovation Fund 2025 call. Interest was high, with 358 grant applications submitted, requesting a combined € 17.5 billion in funding. Ultimately, 77 projects from 23 European countries were selected for funding. The selected projects focus on a wide range of innovative technologies, including industrial CO2 reduction, sustainable fuels, energy storage, clean manufacturing processes, and the processing and recycling of critical raw materials.
Together, these projects are expected to avoid approximately 290 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent in greenhouse gas emissions during their first ten years of operation. They will therefore make an important contribution to achieving Europe’s climate objectives and strengthening the competitiveness of European industry.
Hezelburcht contributes to three successful Innovation Fund projects
The announcement also marks a special moment for Hezelburcht. Our specialists have successfully supported three projects with their Innovation Fund 2025 grant applications. These projects are now among the 77 selected initiatives eligible for European funding. With 358 applications submitted and 77 projects selected, the selection rate was approximately 21.5%. This highlights just how competitive the Innovation Fund is and the importance of a well-substantiated grant application.
A successful Innovation Fund application requires more than just an innovative technology. Projects are assessed on several criteria, including their potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, degree of innovation, project maturity, scalability and cost efficiency. Providing convincing evidence to support these aspects is therefore essential.
We are proud that our specialists have been able to contribute their knowledge and expertise to three selected projects. We congratulate all organisations involved on this excellent achievement!
