New Clean Hydrogen Partnership 2026 call launched with a € 105 million budget
On 20 January 2026, the Clean Hydrogen Partnership opened its new 2026 funding call, making € 105 million available for innovative hydrogen projects across Europe. Funded under the Horizon Europe programme, the call aims to accelerate the deployment of cutting-edge hydrogen technologies and strengthen Europe’s competitive position in the hydrogen sector. Proposals can be submitted until 15 April 2026.
Europe’s ambition for clean hydrogen
The 2026 Clean Hydrogen Partnership call offers opportunities for research organisations, companies and public authorities across the EU to bring breakthrough technologies closer to market while reinforcing Europe’s leadership in the hydrogen economy. Funding is available for projects covering the entire hydrogen value chain, from renewable hydrogen production to fuel cell applications for heavy-duty transport and maritime uses.
The call is designed to support the development of a strong, competitive and resilient European hydrogen ecosystem, with a clear focus on innovation in efficiency, reliability, cost reduction and safety.
Clean Hydrogen Partnership themes for 2026
The total budget of € 105 million is allocated across six key thematic areas within the hydrogen sector:
- €16 million for renewable hydrogen production;
- €17.5 million for storage and distribution;
- €25 million for transport applications;
- €16 million for heat and power projects;
- €5.5 million for cross-cutting topics;
- €25 million for Hydrogen Valleys.
