EIC Accelerator 2024 open for revolutionary innovations
The EIC Accelerator is open for applications again in 2024. The programme supports innovative SMEs develop impactful innovations and scale them up faster. Only the most revolutionary innovations are eligible for grants and funding from the EIC Accelerator programme. The EIC Accelerator is a great opportunity for starts-ups and SMEs that have the ambition to scale up and that are looking for substantial funding but the risks involved are too high for private investors alone. The EIC Accelerator in 2024:
‘Open’ applications or ‘Challenges’
The EIC Accelerator has two types of applications. The EIC Accelerator Open is available for all sors of themes, and the EIC Accelerator Challenges are projects that must focus on predefined challenges. A total of €675 million is available for EIC Accelerator in 2024. €375 million is available for Open applications and €300 million for the Challenges. The Challenges in 2024 are:
- Human Centric Generative AI made in Europe (€50 million budget)
- Enabling virtual worlds and augmented interaction in high-impact applications to support the realisation of Industry 5.0 (€50 million budget)
- Enabling the smart edge and quantum technology components (€50 million budget)
- Food from precision fermentation and algae (€50 million budget)
- Monoclonal antibody-based therapeutics for new variants of emerging viruses (€50 million budget)
- Renewable energy sources and their whole value chain (€50 million budget)
EIC Accelerator applications in 2024
Applications can be submitted now, where you must first submit a short application and then get approval for a full application. Does your full application qualify? Then you will be invited to pitch your project in front of an EIC jury during an interview. For this, the cut-off dates and interviews are as follows:
- Cut-off date 13 March 2024 (interviews: 10-14 June 2024)
- Cut-off date 3 October 2024 (interviews: 13-17 January 2025)
