DEI+ grant: Demonstration of Energy Innovations

For investments in innovative, energy-saving technologies, devices and systems, companies can apply for a Demonstratie Energie-Innovatie (DEI+) grant. This scheme finances demonstration projects which can lead to the saving of energy, the reduction of CO₂ or the generation of sustainable energy. In addition to costs for demonstration, industrial research and experimental development costs may also be decreased.

Are you eligible for DEI+?

You are able to receive DEI+ funding for pilot or demonstration projects. In a pilot project, you test (and improve) a new technology. In a demonstration project, you invest in a production installation that you can continue to use. In 2026, you can apply for subsidies for projects within the following themes:

• Capture, Utilisation and Storage of CO2 (Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage)
• Circular Economy (for projects with more than € 3,000,000 grant, ‘smaller’ projects fall within DEI+ Circular Economy)
• Energy efficiency other than built environment
• Promotion of energy from renewable sources
• Flexibilisation of the energy system
• Local infrastructure
• Other CO2-reducing measures

Applying for a DEI+ grant

The DEI+ no longer makes use of the tendering process for the application procedure. Enterprises can continue submitting grant applications from 27 January 2026 until 30 July 2026, or until the budget runs out. Assessment takes place in the order the applications are submitted, and approval is based on the chance of success in the market and society.
