Results of Innovation Fund Call 2024 published
On 3 November 2025, the European Commission (EC) published the results of the 2024 Innovation Fund call for proposals. A total of €2.9 billion in grants has been awarded to 61 groundbreaking net-zero projects that will collectively save 221 million tonnes of CO2 emissions. This is comparable to the annual emissions of 9.9 million cars in the EU. These results contribute directly to achieving a climate-neutral Europe.
The projects awarded under the IF24 call will have an impact on 19 sectors
The 61 selected projects cover 19 industrial sectors and 18 different countries. The scope of each project varies, but this reflects the EU’s focus on enabling different technologies and applications. The Innovation Fund particularly supports projects in energy-intensive industries or around the themes of renewable energy & energy storage, climate-neutral mobility and climate-neutral buildings.
Successful applications by Hezelburcht

Grant Agreement
The next step for the approved projects is the Grant Agreement preparation. During this phase, our clients and the other applicants will meet with the European Commission to finalise the Grant Agreement. This involves agreeing on the budgets, the timetable, the results and the responsibilities. The agreements will be finalised in mid-2026. Hezelburcht’s support does not stop at applying for the grant; our Financial Consultants and Compliance Officers also help our clients with the Grant Agreement preparations and communication with the European Commission.
The next Innovation Fund call will open soon
The next Innovation Fund call is expected to open again in December with a deadline in spring. Impactful net-zero projects that contribute to the EU’s objectives will again be eligible. Not only are large companies with large-scale projects eligible, but the EC also supports SMEs with smaller projects. Schedule a meeting with an experienced specialist for more information.
