New ERC Consolidator Grant call open for excellent research
A new call has been launched under the ERC Consolidator Grant, part of the Horizon Europe programme. This prestigious grant supports leading researchers carrying out pioneering research and seeking to strengthen their research teams.
Who is eligible?
The new ERC Consolidator Grant call 2026 (ERC-2026-COG) targets excellent researchers with seven to twelve years of experience after their PhD. Funding amounts to a maximum of € 2 million for a period of five years. In exceptional cases, an additional € 1 million may be requested. For example, to purchase major research equipment or to relocate a research project to the EU. This additional budget is only awarded when such costs are essential to carrying out the project.

For the newly opened call, a total of € 673 million is available. Researchers can submit their proposals until 13 January 2026 via the EU Funding & Tenders Portal.
