Innovation Fund Pilot Heat Auction 2025 (IF25 Auction) – Webinar on 9 July
On 9 July 2025, a webinar will be held on the upcoming Innovation Fund Pilot ‘Industrial Heat’ Auction 2025 (IF25 Auction). This event is organised by the Directorate-General for Climate Action of the European Commission to discuss the draft terms and conditions for the IF25 Auction. The focus of this auction is on the decarbonisation of industrial processes, contributing to the EU’s 2050 climate targets.
Innovation Fund funding opportunities in 2025
Through the Innovation Fund, (collaborating) companies, research institutions and public bodies can invest in low-carbon innovations. The programme features annual calls, and since 2023, also auctions (IF Auctions).
In February 2025, it was announced that an Innovation Fund Auction would be launched this year, focusing on the decarbonisation of industrial processes, building on previous auctions aimed at hydrogen. This is a result of the introduction of the Clean Industrial Deal, which has made a substantial budget available for the Innovation Fund grant. A total of € 1 billion has been allocated for this auction to support projects such as heat pumps, electric boilers, and similar solutions.
Webinar: IF25 Pilot Heat Auction
The webinar is intended to introduce information, viewpoints, and relevant materials regarding this auction. It offers potential applicants the opportunity to start preparing their proposals. The official call for proposals is expected to be published towards the end of 2025.
The webinar will take place online on Wednesday 9 July, from 10:00 to 12:00 (CEST).
Following the webinar, an eight-week written consultation period will open. During this time, feedback on the draft terms and conditions can be submitted using the feedback template. The deadline for submissions is 15 August 2025.
